The Dhanush and Kriti Sanon-starred Tere Ishk (Ishq) Mein had a good start at the box office recording one of the highest opening days of 2025. The initial projections suggest that the film can be the 8 th highest opening of the year, after Raid 2 and second only to the blockbuster Saiyaara.

The movie had grossed ₹15.25 crore nett in both Hindi and Tamil markets on the first day of release, Friday. The Hindi version has added 14.75 crore nett trade figure alone and the Tamil version was about 0.5 crore nett. The producer estimates are a bit varied and the nett total of Day 1 collection is estimated to be 15.06 crore. Such opening figures indicate a large turn up to a film whose main attraction is the performance of Dhanush and with the backing of Kriti Sanon as a star.

The project was initially meant to be titled as Raanjhna 2 but due to some rights issues its name had to be changed. Early buzz and anticipation were created with the association of Raanjhna which also featured Dhanush and had a cult following over the years. The film was released in about 2,000 screens in India, which is advantageous because it has a broad distribution base.

The performances of the film are being closely monitored by industry analysts as the word-of-mouth develops. The plot, music and non-traditional love story must have reached out to viewers, especially in the metro cities. Provided that the trend does not change, Tere Ishk Mein may experience a good weekend gross and probably good weekday golds.

In terms of its business judgment, success of the film will be based on long-term profitability. To be a hit, the film must earn at least 85 crore net in India. Having a strong first day opening and glowing audience reactions, the movie has set itself off well on its initial theatric release.
