The Pardeshipura police station in the Indore city of Madhya Pradesh is again in the limelight, as questions have been raised in severe levels, although the Police Commissioner has made stringent assertions regarding crackdown on drugs and crime. A minor victim has written a complaint directly to Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh claiming that the station-in-charge and the investigating officer have helped the criminals rather than do anything about them.
The accused officers undermined the FIR by not filling in serious sections, overlooked crucial evidence and allowed the attackers to go freely with the police protection, according to the complaint by Harsh Jasodiya. The complainant claims that a whole family in the Pardeshipura neighbourhood has been scaring the local residents with drugs, brutality, intimidation and frequent criminal activities over the years.
Manish Bandwal, Love Bandwal, Preet Bandwal, Yash Bandwal, Bhola Maria and Nikhil Mehta are the individuals mentioned in the complaint. According to Victim, such people usually commit crimes when they are drunk and have established a culture of terror and control in the neighbourhood and incite those who dare speak against them. The dwellers insist that they are intimidated by just mentioning their names.
It is even more sensitive to the case when it was disclosed that Love Bandwal is already charged with serious offenses violating the POCSO Act and rape-the issues that are also being tried now in the court. Harsh Jasodiya is one of the most important witnesses in that case on behalf of the survivor. In consequence of this, the accused family is purportedly threatening to destroy the whole family of Harsh and compelling him to provide the testimony against him.
According to the victim, he has been threatened severally using knives, prevented to leave his home and also blackmailed to sabotage the case. The defendant supposedly made a threat to him claiming that, in case he stepped out or testified in court he would complete him and make him disappear out of the locality.
