Dhamtari Police have made a huge breakthrough in the attempt to rob and shooting of the Baradiya Jewellers. The principal absconding suspect and head, Ajay alias Golu Bhadauria has at last been caught after a long three state hunt. Two other suspects who were involved in the incident had been earlier arrested.
Officials stated that since the incident, Ajay had been in a run as he kept switching his hideouts to avoid being caught. He was also changing mobile phones often as a way of deceiving investigators as well as following news coverage to keep up with the police investigation. On understanding the intricacy of the hunt, the Dhamtari Superintendent of Police constituted two special parties, one to Bhind in Madhya Pradesh and the other to Haryana where he was thought to be hiding.
Technical surveillance first established that Ajay was in Haryana, but the police was unable to raid the area and he fled to Delhi. Distributing himself then again of Bhopal and Gwalior, he was ever on the move, to avoid being pursued. Irrespective of these attempts, both the police teams continued to track him in real time. They later got to know that he was by bus travelling between Gwalior and Balaghat. The teams did this promptly and caught him on transit.
The accused has been in possession of a pistol that was used in shooting the Baradiya Jewellers and an Android mobile mobile phone. Ajay was interrogated and was brought to court and has been taken to judicial custody by the City Kotwali Police of Dhamtari.
Research has shown that there has been a criminal past. Madhya Pradesh The 26 years old resident of Dehra village in the Bhind district has 14 severe criminal cases against him between 2015 and 2024. They are theft, assault, criminal intimidation, unlawful arms possession, excise offence, night breaking, burglary of houses and preparing dacoity. The Bhind Superintendent of Police had also offered a reward of 3000 rupees on his capture.
