Delhi MCD Election: Campaigning is underway in full swing for the by-elections to be held in 12 wards for the Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) elections. All three parties, the BJP, Aam Aadmi Party, and Congress, are putting in their full strength. The BJP, along with its ministers, MPs, and MLAs, campaigned door-to-door ahead of the Delhi MCD by-elections. The party hopes to win most of the wards based on this public support.
The last Sunday before the by-election was a full-blown election-fueled campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party. From morning until late at night, ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior organizational leaders went door-to-door to directly interact with voters. The party claims that the public support seen on Sunday clearly indicates that the BJP is poised to win this by-election.
BJP candidates in all 12 wards of Delhi launched a door-to-door campaign starting at 7:30 a.m. Workers motivated people to vote and appealed to them to cast their votes in support of the BJP. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that based on the overwhelming public support received on Sunday, the party’s internal assessment is that it will win 11 out of 12 wards. He said that the BJP’s organizational capabilities and booth management are its biggest strengths.
The main attraction of the day-long campaign was Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who held seven meetings and public rallies from morning till 9 pm. In Ashok Vihar and Dwarka B ward, along with MP Praveen Khandelwal and Kamaljeet Sehrawat, she addressed the Panna Pramukh convention and appealed to the workers to work hard till the last moment. At 1:30 pm, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta interacted with the voters of Greater Kailash ward. MP Bansuri Swaraj, MLA Shikha Roy and District President Ravindra Chaudhary were present in the meeting. RWAs put forward their suggestions on development and maintenance. In the afternoon, she addressed a big public rally in Sangam Vihar A ward along with MP Ramveer Singh Bidhuri.
