A report claimed that on Monday, the headquarters of the paramilitary force of Pakistan in Peshawar was attacked fatally, allegedly by armed militants. The authorities of the police also attested that no less than three officers of the Federal Constabulary (FC) had been killed in the attack. The head of Peshawar police Mian Saeed explained that the killed people had been deployed at the high-entry point of the headquarters.

The attack resulted in the death of four people as well as injuries to others. The police disclosed that one of the attackers blew up explosives at the entrance, and two other attackers were killed by the security agencies in a subsequent gunfire. Quick action on the part of the staff saved more lives, however the event was a shockwave throughout the city.

According to the residents, they heard loud blasts and gunfire soon after the attack started. Numerous people have gone to social media site X and posted their stories, saying that they were being affected by the explosions in the neighboring areas. A number of the videos that were floating around the internet recorded the noise of sustained fire, which made people more scared and confused.

Based on initial reports by residents, there were two huge explosions and security personnel put the area on lock-down. The authorities in Pakistan later confirmed that the explosions were organized by suicide bombers, who wanted to attack the headquarters of Paramilitary as a part of a well-planned attack.

Police quickly isolated roads around the Cantonment and stopped all the traffic in and around. A massive security response was allocated with the arrival of emergency vehicles, bomb disposal units and reinforcements to the scene. The attack has rekindled the fear of militant activity in Peshawar, an area that has been targeted by terror attacks in the years past.

The attackers are being investigated to determine the group that they may be associated with any organised militant group. When preliminary findings are already made, the government is to issue an official statement.
