 Theme & Venue

Since 1952, the International Film Festival of India is the most prestigious celebration of cinema. Oldest in South Asia, it has been jointly organised by NDFC, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG).

For the year 2025, Japan is featured as the ‘Country of Focus’. Goa’s Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant, inspected the venue last evening, ensuring everything is in order for the event.  He will inaugurate ‘The WAVES Film Bazaar’ around 11 am, hours before the festival opens, with a grand parade. Like every year, IFFI ha partnered with UNICEF to celebrate different shades of childhood in the form of stories that shall showcase challenges and inspiration.
